More than 20 years ago, I found myself with an inconsolable baby who was literally uncomfortable in his own skin. I had recently transitioned from a career as an environmental engineer to a stay at home mom with four young children. I was fortunate to be able to stay home because it allowed me to focus on finding the root cause of my child’s ailments rather than just a quick fix. Little did I know that my baby boy’s health issues would launch me into a health and healing journey that not only healed my son, but also provided me with a depth of knowledge about health and wellness. To add to this self study, I became a certified nutrition coach through the Food Matters Nutrition Certification Program, an internationally recognized nutrition education program. I have used my expertise to help many family members and friends and the occasional stranger.

Now, I want to share my insights with a broader audience to make their journey easier, smoothing out some of the bumps I encountered, and opening their minds and hearts to approaches that might help them. I want to empower others to take charge of their health and the health of their loved ones. I want people to appreciate the extraordinary self healing capabilities of their bodies and the importance of providing the right nutrition and conditions to allow healing. The foods we eat play a huge part in our health, but many of the foods in the standard American diet (SAD) do not contribute to our health. Changing what we eat and how we care for ourselves may require breaking out of our old paradigms and looking at things in a new way.
I love to help people and am always quick with a helping hand for family, friends, and my community. I’d like to extend my ability to help others through this blog. I hope to inspire people to revisit their nutrition, their habits of looking at things, and their concept of health. It takes some courage to do things differently, but I hope that I will inspire you to take that leap.

Part of my son’s healing journey included elimination diets that were free of many allergens and inflammatory foods including gluten, dairy, eggs, sugar, and more. At the time, gluten free food was scarce and there was nothing beyond the produce department that I could buy that was free of all the foods we were eliminating. Out of necessity, I made everything myself and developed my own recipes. In this blog, I will share some of the delicious recipes I have cultivated over the last 20 years to provide others with healthy alternatives to what is commonly available. Once you try these recipes and realize the benefits, you will want to make them over and over again never missing the ingredients you’ve eliminated.
